The Basement Pop Sampler hit the airwaves about a year ago, I think. Many of you have it and love it. Many of you don't have and don't know how to love it. Some of you may have tried to love it but our paypal account wasn't cooperating and didn't allow you to love it. That's not fair.
Now that we have gotten things on our business end straightened out, you can order the great sampler cd, which includes all of you favorite Basement Pop players, for just 5 dollars. If you order it this month, we'll be nice and give you any other Basement Pop disc of your choice absolutely free. See our old catalogue to make your decision or tell us you want some Vera Maleta because she isn't in our old catalogue and her music is great. Write to us at orders@thisisbasementpop.com to make your request. Our new catalogue is being fine tuned and will be with you shortly. Thanks for looking.

Matte Cathcart, This is Basement Pop's only drummer, will be touring the south in March with the newest band on his resume, Nana Grizol. They will be touring alongside Basement Pop contributor, Madline, and even playing SXSW in Autsin on March 12 as part of the Orange Twin showcase.
Nana Grizol includes members of Defiance Ohio, Madeline, The Hot New Mexicans, The Door-Keys, and Neutral Milk Hotel. Theo Hilton writes the songs. They have an album coming out soon on Orange Twin that sounds incredible. Enjoy an older track below. Visit their Myspace page for even more music fun. Most importantly go see them play. Look on Madeline's page for tour details. Send us a message via Myspace for now if you want to order a sampler. We'll send you another CD just for fun because we have them.

Don't forget Vera Maleta this Friday at The Cinemat in Bloomington.

Big Time has brought it to his label's attention that his hit song below "All the Tired Horses" is actually an old Bob Dylan tune, appearing as the first track on his 1970 classic, Self-Portrait. Greg, aka Big Time, didn't want to upset his listeners, nor did his label. We are sorry for our mistake. We hope you will forgive us. We still want to encourage you to make your videos. Who knows, maybe even Bob Dylan will see it. Rumor has it, he's all about MySpace. We've yet to get any submissions, so there is still a good shot for all of you. See details below.
Vera Maleta is back from her tour down south and treating Bloomington to a show at the Cinemat on Friday, February 29th. Be sure to check her page for details and to listen to a couple of fresh tracks of her new album. She is keeping busy.
James Beck gets another review on everybody's favorite record reviewing site Erasing Clouds. According to them Badknees turns a Depeche Mode song into a Modest Mouse song. Good job Badknees.

Big Time knows how to write songs. This is a fact. The song below is proof. We dare those of you with video cameras and access to real live horses to make a video for this song. The only requirement is that there needs to be a shot of at least one horse (preferably hundreds of them) running in slow motion. What's in it for you if you send it to us? The video will be broadcast right here on this page indefinitely and we'll send you any basement pop cd you want for free and make you a friend on our myspace page.
All the Tired Horses
In other news, JFBeck, sometimes known as Bad Knees these days thanks to his appearance on an album put out by Asaurus records, gets mentioned in a review on RetroLowFi. The track reviewed is regarded as "absolutely stunning" and he is even compared to Isaac Brock, which is pretty much 100% accurate. Check it out.
In tour news, look for Vera Maleta somewhere in Athens, GA on February 22nd. Check her page for details. We hope to have some Vera samples for you soon to listen and love.
